We specialize in flexible chassis’ that are extendible in length indefinitely and allow you to create curved forms such as serpentine and circular signs. Our flexible signs are made with discreet LEDs rather than LED blocks. LED blocks are square package that usually include 35 to 64 LEDs in a block. When these LED blocks are butted up against each other end to end over many feet of sign they are not very bendable and therefore make it very difficult to create a smooth radius. Rather, signs made of LED blocks are fine for straight signs but really have a very segmented look when you try to create a circular or serpentine form. Our new SMD surface mount displays on our M-TKR models are much more flexible and don't show the lines as they are all soldered on the top of the LED cards. Our MEXL series made from individual discreet LEDs that have 32 vertical columns on a circuit board.

to in the industry as “tickers,” are signs that never pause. Their tight matrixes contribute to a sharper display than typical LED signs, not to mention their ability to seamlessly present a constant flow of up-to-the-minute information.
Shown below, this Full-Color ticker sits snuggly inside the cement countertop of an island bar. The stream of stock figures being pulled in from an online feed begins at the floor and ends as an L-shaped pendant suspended above the bar. Strategically remoting the sign’s internal components to a hidden location permitted the chassis to be a shallow 1.75” in depth to accomodate the both embedded and erected installation.

M-TKR Series Product Details
installations are as customizable as our signs. LED modules and internal components can be kitted for direct installation, without chassis, into a prepared wall cavity or can be conformed to any previous architectural structures to create a seamless LED display. Sizes – Available in a variety of matrix sizes: 16, 24, 32, and character heights: 4.8”, 6”, 7.2”, 8”, 12”, 16”.
Available Colors – Standard monochrome: red, green, amber, blue and white; pseudo tri-color: red, green, amber; and full-color.
Programming – Equipped to accept data from a central information source, subscription feed, local or Ethernet ASCII or BITMAP feeds. For a custom programming solution, ask us about creating a software application to fit your needs.

| ENCLOSURES |
 Black powder coated aluminum. On straight sections, the metal is continuous on all sides. On curved sections, the metal is continuous on the circuit board plain, and forms isolated ribs on the top, bottom, and back. Cutting sections of the isolated ribs allows for smooth curvatures by the bending of the circuit boards and enclosures. |

| CONTROLLER |
 Signs are animated through a serial port on a dedicated IBM compatible PC. In most instances this is an embedded single board industrial PC with a solid state disk that resides inside the sign. In this configuration, an external PC is only required temporarily during the program editing. Communication with the external PC is conducted using RS-422 serial ASCII async 9600 baud, 8 data bits, no parity, one stop bit. |
| PROGRAMMING |
On signs equipped with an embedded PC, the script automatically starts executing power up. As many as 100 signs may be connected to a two pair RS-422 cable to a common host, which may be a PC or a modem. Command sequences may be sent to address any specific sign and put it into command mode whereby it may be downloaded and managed. Signs are blanked during command mode. Basic utility software is supplied to download scripts to signs via direct or dial up connection. Chronocastrm Windows based software is also available to manage multiple sign installations requiring complex programmed weekly schedules with override capabilities. Third party software is also available to supply real time quotes and news, and to support instant messaging functions over LANS and WANS. |
| POWER |
 The units operate on 100/120 VAC, 60 Hz. Units are ETL labeled to UL and CSA safety standards. Forty five (45) feet of this standard EXL product may be powered from one 20 AMP circuit. Power entry is normally made at the right rear end of the sign. OTHER POWER FEED REQUEST MUST BE MADE WHEN ORDERING. Permanent installations require AC hard wired, per National Electric Code (NEC) using junction boxes built into sign sections. The NEC also requires a readily accessible disconnect switch on premises. Signs DO NOT have a built in power switch. Temporary, portable installations may be cord connected. |

The M-EXL control PC executes a sign script text file. This script contains embedded message text and control commands that determine the presentation modes and parameters. In most applications the script file is manually changed whenever the messages need updating. In some applications where real time information must be displayed, a sign may be loaded with special script file that causes the sign to act like a streaming ticker device. Other interactive control schemes can also be implemented via the serial communication port.
M-EXL Series
The M-EXL Series is our most universally popular product line. The M-EXLs are available in multiple colors, character heights and shapes. The chassis have no length limitations and are flexible enough to adapt to any architectural design allowing them to accommodate any industry or application.
Standard colors are red, amber, green, blue and white. Pseudo tricolor is also available in the following combinations: Red, Blue and Purple; Blue, Green and Mint; and Red, Green and Amber. The text height of each individual sign is represented by the number in the name of the product beginning with 2000 (2”) and ending with 10,000 (10”). Industry Rule of Thumb: For people with 20/20 vision, reading distance is 50 feet per inch of character height.

NEW OUTDOOR MODELS AVAILABLE
The M-EXTL feature is the weatherproof adaptation of our M-EXL Series. The M-EXTL chassis features a weatherproof housing and is also designed with the capability to fit a number of architectural situations. Chassis, bezel, and trim strips are usually black or brushed aluminum but any color is possible by request. All standard LED colors are available for this sign: red, green, amber, blue, and white.
